How do you take care of window tint after installation?
To be completely safe consider keeping your newly tinted windows rolled up for 72 hours (3 days) to allow maximum curing time and avoid peeling edges
Tint Do’s and Don'ts?
Don’ts
- Refrain from cleaning the tint with ammonia based products (Windex, HDX, La’s Cleaner)
- Using strong ammonia based cleanser can lead to the film degrading, tint discoloration, or a hazy look over time.
- Don’t Stress
- When windows are newly tinted it can be quite common to see water pockets or even appear cloudy.
- Allow your new tint to go through the curing process. Excess water will evaporate! After 3 weeks if your bubbles have not gone away please contact your installer.
- Wait to clean your vehicle
-
-
- After your vehicle has been tinted, wait until the curing process is complete to insure there is no accidental damage caused to the tint.
-
Do’s
- Use non-ammonia-based cleaners specifically for window tint cleaning.
- If you cannot find a product, warm soapy water is a great alternative.
- Use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe away any dirty or debris
- Using a clean microfiber will insure you are not scratching or damaging the film while cleaning.
- Leaving your Vehicle in the sun will speed up the curing process
- Temperature is crucial to curing speed. During colder climates windows could take up to 2 weeks to cure, meanwhile in hot climates your windows could cure in 48 hours.
